White Hart Market News
Dear All,
A reminder that the Sunday Market starts again this Sunday (12th Jan) in the tender care of the new ‘Friends of the Market’ group. So you can again feast on Polish sourdough and wonderful cakes, and organic veg, there will be local charcuterie, jams, chutneys and (new!) Crudge’s amazing goat cheese, and knitted things.
Do come and support the new committee so we can sell all our veg – there will be cavalo nero, cabbage (red and white) two sorts of potatoes, celeriac, carrots, onions, garlic and lemon. (Let us know of other things you would like us to try and get). All organic, all UK (apart from lemons, and most very local.
Container alert: There will be eco-refills of dry foods, cleaning stuff etc on Jan 26th, so save your containers to bring with you then.
And remember to come and enjoy live music at the pub –

Christmas Market at the White Hart Sunday 8th December
Special Christmas Market at the White Hart, with seasonal foods, gifts, cards, and crafts, plus the usual Sunday Market breads,cakes, organic vegetables and eggs, and other local foods and products. Continental breads and cakes, organic eggs from Wytham, organic vegetables and other local produce and crafts. Cooked breakfasts, teas, and coffees. Meet friends and chat!
Apple Day is also reincarnated into a Christmas Market at the White Hart. Apple Juice, Cakes, Preserves, Knitwear and more. Come along for some great locally made produce that makes perfect Christmas gifts.

Plant Trees in Wolvercote 23rd Nov
Volunteers are needed to plant 500 tree whips on Saturday 23rd November in Nixey’s Field. Please note you must register with Richard Tennant-Eyles to be given instructions. (Click his name to email)
Richard is coordinating the day and will advise on timings, meeting points, equipment, suitable clothing and footwear. Children under 16 years are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
The species will include common alder, white and crack willow, white and black poplar, aspen, hawthorn and hazel, all of which should do well in the flood-prone meadow.

Wytham Fireworks Postponed
The Village hall committee have asked me to let you know that due to the heavy rain today the fireworks have been postponed until next Saturday 16th November.
The playing field is a quagmire and they are worried about the cars. Angie
